Get ready for this years festival April 25th - May 4th, 2008. The theme is 40 Years of Dogwood History & Tradition. The festival committee wants you to be involved. This is a great opportunity to promote your business/organization and showcase our town!
Parade!
Consider being a part of our parade on Saturday, May 3rd at 2 p.m. Professional floats are available to rent from an Indiana business. Walt Evans Decorators located in Brazil provides several local parades with great floats. Call them at 888-446-7621 or visit their website (www.paradefloatstuff.com/rentafloat.html). If renting is not an option consider building your own! It doesn't even have to be a float - walking units, musical units, balloons, costume characters or something specific to your business are great additions to our parade! Use the upcoming 40th annual Dogwood Festival and our website to promote your business! We would like to encourage every local establishment to offer a "Dogwood Deal." Simply supply us with the information below and your promotion will be available online beginning April 1 and continue until your specified expiration date. Get involved in the town wide clean up this spring. Take time to decorate your storefront, plant some flowers or pick up trash.... let's do our best to look our best for the community and visitors to the festival. Check the Progress Examiner for dates and times of the town wide clean up.

Our website gets lots of visits every month all year long. Event schedules, festival pictures, parade entry forms. posting forums and more at www.orleansdogwoodfestival.com. View and post detailed ads online for the annual town-wide yard sales. Publicize!
We do our best to make sure information we have is accurate and included in festival materials. Please contact local newspapers and radios and let them know what your organization is doing - most of these announcements are free of charge. If you need a list of local media contacts please call me. Participate!
Did you know that the Orleans Dogwood Festival, Inc. is a registered not for profit organization? We rely solely on volunteers and donations to make the festival a success every year. When you attend festival activities such as the Phi Beta Style Show, Patrons Breakfast and carnival you not only support those groups, you support the festival! The committee is looking for new ideas and people to join us. Our next meeting is Saturday, March 15th at 9 a.m. in the town hall community room. Only with renewed interest and dedication to the Orleans Dogwood Fesitval can we continue to celebrate many more years of Dogwood History & Tradition. Donate!
